Alloxan
and
Weight Loss

"Alloxan is another lesser known source of weight gain."

Hello everyone,

Almost everyone I talk to now-a-days will "already know" that white, processed bread is on the low end of the best foods to lose weight. Thanks to Dr. Atkins and Dr. Barry Sears of "The Zone" Diet, the awareness of simple carbohydrates on weight gain is much more well known.

What is not well known is that in bleached flour products there is more than what meets the eye. Bleached flour products like white bread, for example, aren't just foods that convert to sugar easily.

These bleached flour products are produced with a variety of chemicals to make the flour look white. The byproduct of this chemical treatment is a chemical called "Alloxan."

Alloxan is a toxic substance. But more than being toxic, it is used in medical studies for diabetes. Because it is known that it produces diabetes by killing insulin producing cells, it is injected into animals when studying diabetes.1

A study has also shown a positive correlation between child diabetes and high levels of this chemical in their blood.2

Substitutes for Bleached Flour Products

If you need a bread substitute you can visit my "Replacement Foods" list on my Weight Loss Recipes Page. There are innumerable ways to have a satisfying meal that promote internal health and weight loss. So use the recipes and the information on my site and in my book to change your life with good information.

If you want to learn more about hidden toxins in the environment that contribute to weight gain and weight related illnesses, please visit my section, "Lose Weight With Detox."
