"VO2 max and natural weight loss are directly related"

Anaerobic exercise is a very broad category of exercise and causes a certain reaction towards your weight loss.

This exercise is simply exercise that is intense enough where your nervous system will stop using oxygen as part of the process of making energy. It will start to use sugar.

Examples are sprinting, weight lifting, resistance exercise.

Anaerobic exercise is very helpful for weight loss when it is done a particular way.

When anaerobic is done with high intensity inerval training that will produce the greatest hormonal response where fat burning hormones are released.

But ideally it should be done in short bursts. Take weight lifting for example, a person will lift weight and do repetitions for a certain number of repetitions. It generally takes about 30 seconds to do this. Then they rest for a while and do another set. So the workout goes like this. Intense then rest and then intense again.

Now lets go over how anaerobic exercise can be done in a way that prevents weight loss. When a person does aerobic exercise they need to do it for a certain length of time to get the fat burning benefit of it.

But they may unwittingly be doing it with too much intensity to push the exercise into the anaerobic exercise zone. By doing this, the body is not burning fat during the exercise but burning sugar and doing it for too long a period of time. This leads to overtraining and excess cortisol being released.

What is needed is an understanding of what the person’s aerobic threshold is and exercise below that in order to truly get an aerobic workout.

As a person becomes familiar with how to use exercise properly for weight loss, they will be able to feel the difference and use both aerobic exercsie and anaerobic exercise in their own way to cause stable and natural weight loss.
