The Best Juicer
The best juicer for the average person is a masticating juicer. There is no question. Masticate means to “grind and knead”. There are two other kinds of juicers: a “centrifugal juicer” and a “press juicer”. The centrifugal juicer has a grater that spins and grates the food and the spinning makes the juice extract. Jack Lalanne made this popular with his infomercial. The problem with this juicer is that you cannot juice leafy vegetables. A masticating juicer grinds and chews everything strains out the juice in it leaving.
A press juicer does a similar thing. It masticates the substance put through it and then you put the pulp in a bag and then put that bag in a press. All the remaining liquid is "pressed" out of the pulp. This takes so much liquid out of the substance that the remaining pulp becomes a hard brick like plate. Technically, a press juicer is the best kind of juicer. It extracts the most juice out of everything that goes through it. The problem is that a decent one is very expensive and takes a lot of time and work. A good masticating juicer like the Omega J8005 Nutrition Center Single-Gear Commercial Masticating Juicer, Chrome and Black for the money is my favorite and I use it everyday.

I have used the Champion juicer but it was so much work and so inconvenient. I have used other types of juicers similar in design as the Omega J8005 but they were so expensive. For the cost of the Omega it is so easy to clean up, so easy to assemble, so easy to use. I am so happy with it and so happy to recommend it. The pulp is also very dry which is what I like to see. It comes with attachments that allow me to grind coffee, bake nut butters, raw ice cream. I was curious whether it would juice something like wheatgrass. It did so easily. It does not juice wheatgrass as well as a wheatgrass juicer but it does a fine job if you need an all around juicer. The pulp that comes out of it is very dry. Its cost is great for the benefits and it is so easy to use and clean up. For me it’s a winner by a mile. Because it is masticating, I can put leaves through it, I can put fruits with the pulp and rind through it, I can put wheatgrass, etc. I love it. What If A Juicer Is Out Of My Budget? Great! Get a decent blender. Sometimes I just put everything in a blender and liquefy it and drink it. I use a $20 blender I got at a garage sale and have been using it for two years with no problem at all. But seriously if you can't afford it, sell your car and buy the best juicer you can with the proceeds from the sale. You'll get farther!
