Causes of Obesity

"The Causes of Obesity are Not As Clear As We May Think"

In this page I will be writing about the hidden causes of obesity.

The general dogma is that excess calories and a sedentary lifestyle is the reason for obesity.

It is not totally complete in its explanation.

Causes of Obesity Are Hidden

There are a lot of hidden reasons for the epidemic rise in obesity in the US.

While it is true that eating too many calories together with a sedentary lifestyle will cause obesity, it is not the sole reason as well.

By understanding the true causes you can solve the obesity problem smoothly and with a straight shot as opposed to many people’s experiences of plateaus, weight rebounds, fatigue and pain.

The causes of obesity are a chain reaction

Metabolic Syndrome

The metabolic syndrome is what obesity is built on. You can read about the metabolic syndrome here.

Part of the metabolic syndrome is that it starts with visceral fat, a form of belly fat.

This visceral fat grows inside the abdominal cavity. It grows inside the liver, around the liver and around the other internal organs. It even grown around the heart.

Once the liver is compromised the entire body’s internal health suffers. The liver is a filter and cleanser and if it does not work properly then overall toxicity increases.

Hormone Imbalances

Hormone imbalances are another one of the hidden causes of obesity. Hormone imbalances result from an impaired liver.

You can read the following pages to learn about the various causes of obesity causing results of an impaired liver.

Hypothyroidism
Subclinical hypothyroidism
Estrogen dominance

The body is also put under a lot of internal stress due to lack liver function so cortisol increases.

You can read cortisol and weight gain. This excess cortisol causes dehydration, insulin resistance which leads to cardiovascular disease such as atherosclerosis.

Fat becomes a fat producing gland. Many people do not know that visceral fat acts as a hormone producing gland. Specifically, it produces estrogen. Estrogen is a fat storing hormone.

Toxicity

Almost all obesity and morbid obesity is related to toxicity. There are glands that are not working. They are over-stressed and being adversely affected by the toxins. For example, there are toxins that can stop the thyroid from working correctly. The thyroid is what regulates the metabolic rate. If toxins are slowing down your thyroid, they are slowing down your metabolism.

Several toxins that are in many common modern foods also cause a resistance to insulin which leads to diabetes and insulin resistance leads to further weight gain.

Here are links that explain the various toxins that have been proven to cause obesity:

This is also part of the reason for obesity in children, fastfood obestiy and teen obesity.

There is an ever increasing spiral here because as health suffers, as the liver gets more congested the body is less able to use nutrients. When internal visceral fat grows it start to push the lungs upwards. This will cause less oxygen to be taken in to the body.

When there is less oxygen in the blood, the nervous system will use sugar rather than fat as an energy source. This will cause the nervous system to crave sugar.

The increase in cortisol also causes a loss of key minerals. When minerals leave the body, dehydration occurs at a cellular level. When there is dehydration at a cellular level, your body cannot use fat for energy. The nervous system will use only sugar. The main way to reverse dehydration is to increase mineral content.

Cravings for Processed Foods

When the metabolic syndrome occurs, and the body’s dependence of sugar rather than body fat for energy, cravings for sugary and processed foods increase dramatically. Most processed foods have high fructose corn syrup, MSG and other obesity and diabetes causing chemicals.

These are most of the causes of obesity that are hidden. By understanding these, you can create faster reversals of obesity and much faster weight loss.
