"Detox Diet For Weight Loss: Learn Different Ways To Do This..."

"Before you detox for weight loss, you should have a basic understanding of what toxins are in the first place..."


This page goes over the basics of toxins and their effect on your health and fat loss.

To detox for weight loss alone is is workable method but it should not be the one and only way to lose weight or lose fat. For some detoxing is the be-all-and end-all. For most, it is a foreign concept...

What you will read in this page will be hard to accept for most people. My clients have the hardest time with this subject. The purpose of this page is not to make you afraid but to educate you on a subject that has more and more impact in our lives.

What is a toxin?


Toxin:

1. toxic substance: a substance that causes illness, injury, or death if taken into the body or produced within the body (Encarta)

[Mid-17th century. Via medieval Latin toxicus "poisoned" < Greek toxikos "of the bow" ( Greek toxikon pharmakon meant "poison for smearing arrows")]

 

For the purposes of this site, it is safe to say that toxic means poisonous and toxin means poison.

When it comes to poisons in biology and health, there are thousands that have been discovered and more that will be. At every moment we have toxins in our body. They are at various levels and affecting your health in different ways. It is impossible to be totally free of toxins.

When you detox for weight loss, you are removing toxins to reduce fat. Any detox done for weight loss is best done as a comprehensive weight loss plan. to detox for weight loss alone is a fad and any fad will not work long-term. Period.

For the purposes of this site, I will divide toxins into two broad categories. Toxins that are organically made by natural processes within and outside the body, and toxins that are created and manufactured by man. The second categories are almost always toxins that enter the body system from the outside. Your detox for weight loss will reduce both toxins.

In either case, the result is the same and they both have an effect on your weight-loss efforts.

How does your metabolism process toxins and how does it affect weight loss?


Simply stated, toxins are stored by fat.

Fat seems to have has as one of its purposes, the provision of a buffer so toxins are not interacting with vital functions of the body. When toxins can be stored in fat cells they do not circulate through the system causing damage.

 

So one of the ways to reduce fat is to detox for weight loss.


Externally Created Toxins...

Most of the toxins we think about are man-made chemicals. And this is true. In the 1960's there was a tremendous proliferation of chemicals into mainstream diet. Microwave foods, preservatives in foods, waxes to provide the fresh look of vegetables, steroids and growth hormones injected into bovines to create more meat per animal and per unit of time.

Then there's radiation floating in the air from nuclear testing, radiation from tv screens and computer monitors, there is mercury, lead and excessive carbon dioxide from combustion engines floating in the air, there is carbon monoxide in the air from car exhaust fumes, medical drugs that create side effects that are harmful, etc.

When you look at the business of produce you will also find a fantastic proliferation of toxic substances used to increase profit. Non-organic produce is manufactured to increase profit.

There is nothing wrong with profit but there is something wrong with a uninformed consumer who thinks he is getting something he is not or getting something he does not want to get.

In order to increase profits, you need produce to grow faster, have less interference from insects and the like, and after harvesting, need to remain in a sellable state for as long as possible.

So as a result they are harvested earlier. Younger fruits and vegetables are more resilient, but they do not yield the nutrient content that a mature or adolescent fruit or vegetable does. They are also sprayed with chemical insecticides in mass quantities while still in the fields.

They are also sprayed with a chemical wax to "protect" them. This wax also preserves them and makes them look better. When you digest these fruits and vegetables, you are digesting these chemical additives.

These chemicals are leached into the ground in which these vegetables and fruits grow. So as the they grow the chemicals get leached into the actual cells of the fruit and vegetable. So you have chemicals on the surface of the produce but also within its own cells.

If you have a locust problem in your body and you plan on storing your fruits and vegetables in a part of your digestive tract for a few weeks, you are golden!

But if not, then you have a chemical that is designed to kill insects in the fruits and vegetables. I have not even gotten into regular garden variety pollution in the air that filters down into the soil.

Coincident with the rise of these synthetic chemicals in abundant quantities proliferating throughout society was the unprecedented rise of various diseases and illnesses. Obesity and excess weight is one of them.

Further, when you look at the promotion of these mass production methods into other countries that historically have very low rates of obesity and very low over-weight populations, you see a drastic rise in the rate of obesity, and obesity-related diseases.

If you detox for weight loss you will be doing more for your health than losing weight. 


Internally Created Toxins...

The other category of toxins are internally created by the body itself. There are instances when two or more non-toxic substances are combined within the body and become toxic or create toxic substances.

A simple example is most food recommended by the Standard American Diet. Most of it comprises processed food that does not digest easily. When food takes too long to digest and convert into something useable, it ferments and putrefies.

This is not known to most people at this time. If you take samples from the stomach or digestive tract after is has been there for a long time you will see rampant evidence of putrefaction.

Rancid odors, gasses and liquids are released. To get an example of this, leave meat lying on a counter for a few days. The exact same process takes place in the digestive tract.

This occurs when certain foods are eaten, when certain foods are eaten in the wrong combinations and eaten at the wrong time.

Let me give you an example of how certain combinations of foods can cause over acidity...

When food is ingested into your digestive system, starting with your mouth enzymes are secreted to break the food down to smaller parts. When you digest a starch, enzymes are secreted by the stomach that are alkaline. When you digest a protein such as animal flesh, the enzyme secreted is acidic.

When an acid and and an alkaline are mixed a neutral substance is created. They cancel each other out.

The result in your stomach is a bunch of foods VERY slowly liquefying and beginning to ferment and rot. Most adults in America after eating a standard American lunch feel tired, and their stomachs feel bloated. This is why.

The digestive process has halted. Very little nutrients are being derived from the meal and the body is now roting. All of your blood and energy gets routed to the stomach and intestines to deal with this.

Another example of combinations that make acids and toxins is fruit combined with any other type of food. Fruits transfer from its raw form to nutrients in about 20 to 30 minutes. That is very good. But most fruits are sweet and thus contain a lot of sugar.

If mixed with cooked flesh or starches or worse, both, you have fruit turned into liquid sugar in the stomach with cooked flesh which is breaking down very slowly. Sugar speeds up any fermentation process.

This creates gasses and bloating. Together, they produce much more in the form of excess gasses and decaying matter. The same goes true for fruit and starches. But with starches you do not get a lot of putrefaction.

You do get a lot of sugar created and you do get fermented liquids and gasses which are acid forming. Excess sugar, starches and proteins all create acidic waste matter on their own separately. But together the acidic waste matter is multiplied.

So part of your detox for weight loss will be learning how to eat, when to eat, how to combine foods.


Acid-Alkline Balance...

To deetox for weight loss, you also have to learn about the toxic nature of excess acidity in the body. These putrefied substances are toxic and create toxic substances. Another source of toxicity that is very prevalent in people today is excess acidity.

Excess Acid is Toxic to the human body. Your body thrives in a specific ph balance. Illnesses, toxic substances, stress processed foods are all acidic and acid forming within the body. Excess acid is also toxic. Either extreme acid or alkaline is harmful. But in current society people are extremely acid. It will be hard to find someone who is alkaline. Much less excessively alkaline.

Acid is so corrosive, it can burn holes through steel. The only thing that prevents the acid within your body from burning through its own internal organs is that it gets neutralized by alkaline substances.

But I want to give you some examples of how this can hit home to you or people next to you. Have you ever heard of these products: Tums, Alka-Seltzer, Pepto Bismol, Pepsid AC, Prilosec?

They are all ANTACIDS!

Have you ever known someone to drink so much alcohol they throw up? Guess what alcohol is? Guess what it creates? Acid. In excess, you body tries to protect itself and causes you to want to throw up. It is a self-protective mechanism.

Ever see someone with a hangover? They are dehydrated, malnourished and acidic. The excess alcohol leached out minerals and vitamins to metabolize the alcohol and also is a pure acid anyway. So that is one of the major reasons for the horrible feeling of a hangover. There is a virtual complete depletion of vitamins and minerals in the body.

If you study the tissues of an alcoholic you will find their muscles are in a catabolic state. The excess acid has been breaking down the muscle tissue. The kidneys and liver are also taxed beyond belief trying to process the tremendous amounts of glucose forced through both those organs.

Emotional mental states also create acidity. Stress, worry, panic cause chemical reactions that result in acids being secreted within the body.

Have you ever heard of someone who was so nervous they started getting a queasy stomach? Or got so suddenly upset they threw up? If you find someone who is continuously in a state of stress, panic and worry, you will also hear them having physical problems with digestion, fatigue, aches, joint pains, head aches, dry eyes, dry skin, dry frizzy hair or hair falling out. These are all symptoms of vitamin and mineral deficiencies.

I have met people in the course of my work and study who are in the nutrition field. They do all the textbook things like eating right and exercising but they are so nervous and stress that they look old.

Stress creates excess acid in the body and this makes the metabolism primarily catabolic. The environment of the cells of the body are such that cells are not able to thrive. They are depleted of the nutrients they need.

Minerals are alkalizing substances. Where there is excess acidity in your body, minerals are taken out of the blood, cells, organs and bones to reduce the acidity.

When there is too much acid production very well-known conditions occur. Ever heard of an ulcer? Even in movies there are comedies where characters show how a person is trying to avoid being stressed because it upsets their ulcers.

Products for conditions associated with over-acidity have existed in America for a long time. They have been selling all this time. This is complete total evidence of a society that is overly acidic.

The point here is that there are many things that can be done to detox for weight loss that are practical and user friendly. Most are "common sense" solutions.

Defense Mechanisms...

Your metabolism has preset defense mechanisms to deal with harmful substances. It tries to cope with the avalanche of toxicity and acidity.

Some of these mechanisms are to release minerals such as calcium from the muscles and bones to neutralize acids. This causes weaker bones, and tense, underdeveloped muscles at best.

Teeth become weaker as well can calcium and other minerals are leached from them to neutralize acids. If it cannot keep up with its defenses the acid will concentrate in weaker areas and cause acute illnesses such as ulcers, muscle atrophy, constipation, irritable bowel disease, and a host of others.

One thing that must be noted here is that all harmful microbes, bacteria and viruses CANNOT exist in an alkaline environment. They CANNOT. Not physically. It is a physical impossibility. This includes cancer and cancerous growth.

With such a harmful substance, the body uses many methods to deal with it. One of these is to create fat to remove these substances from the vital organs.

When you detox for weight loss, you are removing substances that fat is created to store. Remove the toxins and you remove one major reason for fat to exist.

Used, Wasted or Stored...

When substances within the body cannot be metabolized, they are either eliminated or stored. When they are stored it seems they get stored in the fat tissues. If you get cell samples from muscle, skin, hair, fat, bone, etc. The fat cells contain more acid and toxins that any other tissue.

Your metabolism will spend more time working on this than its main purpose which is to maintain, repair and build cell tissue.

There are right things to store and wrong things to store. Obviously a wrong thing to store is excess acid and toxins. When you detox to lose weight you are taking acid and toxins out what what is stored. By doing so, fat is reduced. You also have to structure your detox for weight loss to efficiently "waste" the toxins. Some detox diets are so restrictive that they cause the body to hold on to the toxins.

When I structure a weight loss program, the detox happens in many indirect ways. I purposefully design it to prevent experiencing the uncomfortable phenomena with detoxing.

Here is an excerpt from a client that wrote about her experience with a detox for weight loss program she did:

"When I got more knowledgeable on pesticides and preservative chemicals I decided to eat more organic foods. I had struggled with weight loss for a long time and thought the toxins must have a major effect on my excess fat. I joined a program to detox. Though I am sure toxins were leaving, it was so draining and time consuming. I felt weak for extended periods of time. I also got sick. I did lose weight but I looked haggard and run down.

"When Yegyan showed how detoxing occurs in many different ways, I started to see that I had gotten so afraid to eat things and do things. It was not helping my kids as well. They started binging on fast food when I was not there.

"Through a proper exercise program that alkalizes the blood, and gradually reducing the toxins I am eating, it is much easier now. My energy levels are higher for longer periods and my mental acuity is sharper then ever. I am very pleased the with the comprehensive approach to weight loss Yegyan has developed for me.

Standard American Diet (SAD) and Your Metabolism:
Something like the Standard American Diet, creates a downward spiral: lack of nutrients slows down the metabolism, the excess waste becomes acid and the metabolism is now working to solve that problem, you feel very tired because all the energy is being spent with the previous two actions. The lack of energy makes it hard for you to cope with living so you get more stressed and this creates more acid. The accumulated waste become impacted in the digestive system and breeding more and more harmful bacteria. The bacteria have their own waste matter. This waste matter is toxic and acidic. So drugs are taken to solve this problem. More toxins ingested and more acids are formed.

Together with the excess sugar in the diet of Americans, there is only one inevitable result. Fat is created on human bodies faster and greater than ever before. Then the attendant diseases follow: Heart disease, colon cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes (for which there is currently no cure).

This is why the S.A.D. should stand for the Standard American Death. At this current time. It is indeed standard and this death and illness have become some of the greatest profit centers of this economy. I also refer to this as the Standard American Death because when the American diet spread to other countries the same illnesses began growing in multiples in these countries that did not have these illnesses before. If ever there was a need for an effective detox for weight loss technology, it is here and now.

 

What to Learn From this Lesson:
When it comes to fat loss and weight loss, toxicity toxins are a vital part. Some of my clients have dramatically reduced their fat percentage by reducing the toxins ingested. They did this by replacing their processed, chemical-laden food with organic living food little by little. The fat started melting away.

Fat seems to have, as one of its purposes, the storage of toxins and acid to protect your body and health. To only detox for weight loss, however, is a poor way to lose weight if it is used alone. In my experience it is hard for a lot of people. If they have been eating processed foods all their life, this will be a very difficult way to lose weight. The effects of detoxing can make you feel like you are being poisoned rather than detoxing for weight loss! When you detox for weight loss do it as part of a comprehensive weight loss plan that looks at your entire life and circumstances. Detoxing should be a gradual part of the changes you make to lose weight effectively without shocking your system.

A comprehensive weight loss plan will involve several components that all indirectly detox for weight loss. At the moment "detox for weight loss" books, plans, programs and clinics are sprouting up all over the place. What I observe though is when a person uses a "detox for weight loss" plan without comprehensively look at the whole picture, the person begins to have a restrictive attitude towards diet, eating and living. They begin to focus on what is toxic. They become minimalist in their choices. Also, when they embark on these "detox for weight loss" plans, they have to go through the detox symptoms which can be very uncomfortable.

This is not how I want my clients to live.

Over the past 10 years I have been losing weight and putting it back on just about every three months.

I finally took a much needed step and hired Yegyan to help me stop the yo-yo diet cycle. After 30 days I lost 11 LBS and was able to get back into my favorite pair of jeans. Last time I told you I had lost 20lbs in three months by changing my diet and aerobic activity in the form of brisk running. My waist has gone from 45" to now 38" and my weight 196lbs my height is 6ft.... and my waist is getting smaller again. This is great motivation!

...At 57 I don't feel I have both feet in the grave yet. Above all I don't want to become what I see lots of my friends starting to turn into wizened old men!

When I first started changing my diet a week ago, I couldn't believe it. I definitely started to feel the difference.

My mind was clearer. It felt like a fog was lifted. My energy was increased.

I wasn't dragging myself around to do things. I had a lot more energy.

Even my hair improved. It wasn't as dry as it was before I changed the way I was eating. It has a lot more body and not as frizzy and it was. I was using a special conditioner to make it less dry and frizzy. I don't have to use that anymore.

My skin is different also. I have been told so many times by a lot of people that I look younger. I even notice it myself. I don't look so worn out anymore. My skin has a different look to it. It seems like my wrinkles are not as pronounced. The rest of my body isn't as dry as it was, I don't use half of the lotions I did before.

I have lost ten pounds and 1 inch of my thighs and hips. My life is changing for the better. I haven't even started to exercise yet. But I don't feel that it will be as hard as it would have been if I didn't change my diet. I'll update you with my results.

I think once you get the knowledge on how food affects your body, the easier it is to change the way you eat. Knowledge it half the battle.

So many people eat the wrong way because they have been given bad information. There are a lot of people on diets that are really not eating the right way or eating the right things. They seem to gain the weight right back the minute they stop the diet. They feel hungry all of the time and get tempted constantly by the things they can't eat.

Well I don't feel deprived. I don't feel hungry and I haven't been tempted by anything, which is unusual for me.

Nobody ate more sugar and sweets than I did. I was always putting a cookie in my mouth. Eating chocolate or cake any chance I got. I thought it gave me more energy. I don't need that anymore. I never thought I would not want any sweets, but I don't. I feel satisfied, which is a great feeling.

My sister gave me your web sight she really praises you. She said I could ask you what I could do about my cholestrol.

I am 62 5'2 and I weight 135 lb my numbers are 246 Chol/146 tri/43 HDL LDL 176 The doctor wants to put me on medication I dont want to do that.

I have just started taking Guggal (2) 300mg, Beta-Glucan (1) 250 mg,Niacin 2 100 mg drinking (2) tablespoons of chlorophyll in water, eating oatmeal and drinking oat bran 2 tablespoons and garlic is this going to work do I need to do more. I do this everyday and I am walking at the gym They are giving me 30 days to get it down. I have thought about adding red yeast rice.

Yegyan I did not know if I should tell you this but I am. It has only been a few weeks and the changes in on the out side of me are turning 35 year olds heads. YES I have got 35 year old men after me.

I was trying to change my cholesterol I dont know if that has happened yet but now I have another thing going on.

I have got men after me from 35 to 70 years old. I am really having a lot of fun with all the attention I am getting I was not looking for weight to go so much but I am really liking this.

I am in jeans I have not worn for 10 years I look 10 years younger than I am. THIS IS FUN

At 48 years old, I had spent the better part of 25 years running, working out, eating healthy food, and taking care of my body. Being somewhat of an exercise junkie, I was certain I had all the answers.

I was frustrated that my body was stuck in a state of “I’m not budging, just try and make me.” I can honestly say that I thought I knew exactly what I was supposed to be doing for myself and for my health, however, I was working in vain. What I wanted was completely eluding me.

Before I met Yegyan, I had been working out at the gym, but struggled to lose 10 pounds over a period of many months.

When Yegyan and I talked about that, he explained that my heart rate should not go over 126 while working out in order to be burning fat. I had had no idea, so prior to that I had been working as hard as I could push it, out to 135 and even 140 and believing I was doing the best thing possible to lose weight in a healthy manner.
