Digestive System and Natural Weight Loss
A functioning and healthy digestive system is one of the secrets to natural weight loss that is rarely looked at. But I rank it as the third most important category to permanent, dramatic, easy and quick weight loss. What's Covered in This Section Poor digestion is a hidden killer of natural weight loss efforts. We tend to attack what we can see. We can see the fat under the skin and the increasing waist measurements but what most people do not have any awareness of is what is happening in the digestive system and how it is slowing the metabolism toward death, starving muscle cells of the body, and contributing to illness in general. But also, when it comes to natural weight loss, making your digestion work the way it is meant to work will also accelerate your metabolism, melt your fat, increase your energy and giving your muscles the nutrition it needs. In "Speed Up Your Metabolism" I wrote about how most people mis-define metabolism and therefore get poor results with their natural weight loss. Most people are actually using the definition of DIGESTION to define METABOLISM and they are totally different. Digestion 1. the breaking down of foodstuffs in the body into a form that can be absorbed and used or excreted 4. CHEMISTRY: the softening or breaking down of a substance through exposure to heat, water, chemicals, enzymes, or bacteria[1] [14th century. < Latin digest-, past participle of digerere "carry apart" < gerere "carry"][2] | Digestion can be one of your best friends when trying to create dramatic, permanent and rapid natural weight loss. There are a few components of how an optimum digestive system make you lose weight: -
Reduces toxicity and blood acidity. A poor digestive system creates toxicity and acidity. -
Increases nutrient absorption in the cells. It feeds your muscles which then starves your fat. A poor digestive system does not allow the processing of substrates and barely digests foods. If these foods are not digested, assimilated and eliminated, they are chemically converted to fat. -
Increases the energy balance in your body cells by reducing the energy demands on your body and also providing more nutrition to your cells. A poor digestive system drains your energy systems. This slows your metabolism down. In this section, I want to show you effective methods for using your digestion to work for your weight loss. There are two goals when it comes to using your system for natural weight loss: -
Reduce the amount of energy your digestive system uses to convert food to cellular nutrition. -
Eliminate any barriers to attaining life-giving nutrients out of the digestive process. The beginning of the digestion is in the mouth when you chew your food. It is the first stage where the food you eat is prepared to be broken down. When you swallow what you have chewed, the food goes into the stomach. Gastric juices are released in the stomach that breakdown proteins. After this the partially digested food, called "Chyme" passes to the small intestines. The small intestines are comprised of different parts as well that each serve an important purpose. But for this discussion I will take the whole small intestine as one part. It is in the section of the digestive tract that most of the nutrients are absorbed by the body. After most of the nutrients are absorbed from the digested food, it then moves into the large intestine. This is also referred to as the colon. In the colon, remaining nutrients are extracted from what is left of the digested food. It also extracts water and salt from solid wastes before they are eliminated from the body. There are foods that if eaten slow down your digestion. This will be hard for many of you to accept but the results are undeniable. I will go over what foods work together when they are inside you and what do not and why. I will also give you guides to try this out for yourself. Food Combining This is another part of the Standard American Diet that is practically extinct. If it was a species necessary for the balance of the eco-system of life on earth, it would be on the endangered species list. When it comes to your body and diet in general, it is definitely an endangered nutrient. High Fiber Foods and Natural Weight Loss Your Colon has a unique function with regard to your natural weight loss. The colon is the last portion of the digestive system in your body. It extracts water and salt from solid wastes before they are eliminated from the body. Colon Cleanse and Natural Weight Loss Hydration is a very misunderstood subject. It is a veritable myth. And it has a dramatic effect on weight loss. Hydration of the digestive tract and the whole body is another very important factor of your natural weight loss. Dehydration and Digestion Due the the excessive processing of foods in Western society the environment of the digestive tract can get excessively acidic. I use the word excessively because some parts of the digestive tract has to be acidic. The problem is when there is excess acidity. This can cause demineralization which causes the digestive muscles to work harder and use more energy. Also, excess acidity, through demineralization will cause a drop in nutrient content, assimilation and absorption. Alkaline Foods and Digestion
