Exercise: Resistance Bands
for
Weight Loss

When you exercise with resistance bands you still want to stick with compound exercises. (If you don’t know what I mean by by “compound exercises” please read "Resistance Training Exercises.") I will show you different videos here on how they should be done with resistance bands.

To understand the benefits of exercise with resistance bands you can read, "Resistance Training Equipment." On this page you can learn the criteria to use to chose the equipment you should purchase.

Also, to understand why these are the types of exercises to use, you should also read. "Hormone Restoration as well."

Here are a list of basic compound exercises and also other names they are called:

  • Squat
  • Deadlift
  • Bench Press, Chest Press
  • Press, Military Press, Shoulder Press
  • Rows, Bentover Rows
  • Pulldowns, Lat Pulldowns

Please keep in mind, this is just an introduction to the concepts of compound exercises. Personal training will give the best form and technique for the best result. Also the programs I recommend in "Exercise Programs" are a much better source of learning these movements. They are what I recommend for those that I cannot personally train.

These videos below show an introduction to the basic compound exercises so you can see what they look like.

Note: Please disregard any advice on how many reps to do. Most of it is unfounded and will not work for you. The exact number of reps to produce weight loss results can be found in my book Metabolism Makeover.

These are basic compound exercises. For most of you, these are all you will need to build an exercise program. But you will need to know other things to maximize your workout. Things like "muscle failure," the "Pump and Burn," how long to workout, how long to rest between repetitions, how many repetitions of the exercise to do, how many sets to do, when to change your routine, etc.
