I have a Vitamix. Can I get the same benefits of juicing using this machine?

I bought a vitamix because the people selling it said it was great because you can put the whole fruit and or vegetable in the blender and get all the benefits including the fiber.
I would like your thoughts on this. If nothing else I would be eating a lot more fruits and vegetables. I do notice I need to not consume too much juice at a time or too often as I tend to have problems with constipation.

Hi Robin!
Thank you for your post. This is a very good question.
Ultimately, and especially if you eat little raw, fresh fruits and vegetables now, eating them in any way is absolutely going to be better than not eating them at all.
Whether it is blended or juiced, your body is getting so much more benefit than not eating them at all or eating too little of them.
But to get technical?
The true benefit of eating raw vegetables comes from what is inside the cells. The walls of the cells are actually very resilient and tough. So juicing with a masticating juicer or press type juicer is so great because those types of juicers actually break open the cells.
What is inside the cells that is so beneficial? There are the micronutrients such as vimanins and minerals that people today are so unbelievably deficient in. But more importantly are the enzymes. This is what you want.
Now, back to your exact question about your Vitamix. The Vitamix is a great blender because it is so high speed it does open the cells when compared to other juicers.
Is it the same as drinking juice? Technically no, a juice is more concentrated and goes into the cells faster.
But, being practical, this does not mean you are not getting great benefit! Few people will feel or experience the difference in their body in their everyday life.
Your mindset is spot on! If it helps you eat more raw, fresh veggies, then by all means use it!!

Here I was thinking all this fiber is good but obviously too much can cause problems too.
So I have cut back and am currently drinking one 16 oz glass a day.
Can you talk about the difference between these two juicing methods?
Thanks so much.
