The fastest way to improve VO2 max is through high intensity interval training. There are different ways of doing interval training. There is low intensity interval training, high intensity interval training and interval training with resistance exercises. High intensity interval training is the most efficient way to improve VO2 Max.
The problem is that not everyone can or should do this.
Some people are not physically fit to do intense exercise of any kind. There are structural problems that will either prevent them from doing it or they will get injured if they do it. If you are overweight and have not worked out at all for a long time, then you should not start with this. You should build up to it. But how do you do that? That is what this wholeinterval training section is about. Your goal for aerobic or cardiovascular exercise is to be doing high intensity and increasing that intensity over time. But you have to get there first. That is the trick. Getting to that point correctly is what can make it effective for weight loss or not effective for weight loss. Some clients can just start and will do fine for a while until they plateau. However, there are also some clients that should not do any intense exercise. If they have adrenal fatigueadrenal fatigue or excess cortisol they should not do any intense exercise at all. If you have these conditions and do any intense exercise, you will get more fat or will get sick. So you have to do only low intensity exercise. This does not mean that they do not do interval training. They just do low intensity interval training. Interval training with low intensity will still cause more oxygen use than low intensity without intervals. So there you have it. You now know how to improve your VO2 Max in the most efficient manner and what to be aware of first.
Your exercise has to be designed to get your body conditioned to using oxygen again. If you have excess cortisol and have adrenal fatigue, you should not use intense exercise at all until certain indicators have changed for your body.
