Lack of Sleep and Appetite Control

lack of sleep, appetite control

Lack of sleep and appetite control are totally related. Use sleep to replace appetite suppressant use.  Sleep solves so many weight loss problems and appetite is one of them. Get good sleep regularly and watch your cravings and hunger dramatically reduce.

Cravings Come From Hormones

Much of your cravings and hunger come from hormones. A lot of these hunger-causing hormones come from stress and lack of eating.

Not getting at least 7 hours of deep sleep will begin to put stress on your nervous system. Also, hormones such as cortisol will start to get released. This hormone shuts down the body’s ability to use fat for energy and increases the body’s ability to use sugar. Thus it raises the blood sugar level as well, which reduces appetite control.

Blood Sugar and Cravings

Raising blood sugar will increase hunger cravings.

Cortisol also suppresses hormones that burn fat like HGH (Human Growth Hormone) and testosterone. These two hormones are very powerful fat burning hormones.

But with regard to your appetite control, lack of sleep causes more ghrelin to be released. This hormone causes feeling of hunger.

Sleep loss also reduces the hormone leptin. Leptin is the hormone that makes you feel full.

So it seems a good nights sleep is more than a luxury when it comes to appetite control.

Tips for Sleep

To improve a lack of sleep, taking a Calcium and Magnesium formula such as A to B Calm in the evening and sipping that will help your muscles relax and soothe your nerves. Magnesium is a natural nerve calmer. You will have deeper sleeps and give your nervous system a rest and allow it to recuperate.

Cut it short and end the day and sleep earlier. Sleeping earlier is better than waking up later to make up for lost sleep.

A last note here is that this is one aspect of natural weight loss. To get the fastest and most permanent results I suggest not using only one thing to be successful with your natural weight loss. It is best if you have a comprehensive program that addresses your entire lifestyle. The many books and diets out there tell you what to eat and how to exercise but they do not address the hidden sources of sabotage.

Using the information here is best used as part of a comprehensive natural weight loss program. If you are interested in getting natural weight loss consulting that is tailored to you, you are welcome to get contact me for an initial consultation here: “Weight Loss Program
