Lose Weight Without Exercise:
Focus on Nutrition

"It helps to lose weight without exercise
and with proper nutrition first."

Someone asked me this question which is a good question, “Which is more important to focus on, diet or exercise?”

I always start a client on getting their diet under control.

I think a better way to say it is that I need to get a person's nutrition under control.

Nutrition Is A Lost Science and Art

Nutrition is almost a lost science and art. When I get clients that are regular people with jobs and and a full life or when I have clients that are athletes, they are always surprised at what a difference nutrition makes in their results.

A bodybuilder who is trying to get bigger muscles without fat can keep their same workout and get dramatically different results with a change in their nutrition.

But let's take some practical reasons why I focus on diet first before exercises.

First of all, most people eat about 3 times a day. That is about 21 times a week. When they become my client almost all of them will start to eat 6 small meals a day because that is one of the ways to speed up your metabolism. So that is 42 times a week that there is a eating going on.

When a person exercises, the frequency is 3 to 6 times a week. It should last for less than an hour for most people when they are using my method of weight loss. Often, they lose weight without exercise.

In this light, I always focus on the food first. You eat all day and you exercise at most once a day.

Get the eating sorted out first.

I focus on getting my client's body to lose weight without exercise first.

Keeping the body NOURISHED is the first step to being able to lose weight without exercise AND keep it off.

Now keep in mind NOURISHED is not the same as FED. When I say nourished I am talking about getting the cells of your body the nutrients it needs to survive at optimum levels. Eating and feeding are not the same thing as nourishing. It is a night and day difference and it is unmistakable.

It takes a bit of an acquired skill and a set of new habits to make this work in real life. When a person does not learn the new skills and habits of nourishing their body through food, they will fall back into old habits. Then the results from exercise will fall short all the time and you will get that feeling of, “Nothing Works!”

So I really focus first on the skill of how to nourish yourself everyday without stress or hassle. Even with this step you can lose weight without exercise. There are numerous clients I get that did not come to me for weight loss but for a general, non-acute health condition such as high blood pressure, insomnia, irritable bowel syndrome, etc. When I help them with these situations, they lose weight without exercise.

That is the main reason for focusing on diet first before exercise.

The second reason is that diet, or maybe I should say nutrition, is the bedrock of results and health. As I mentioned earlier, a person can workout perfectly in every way but if the nutrition is out, the results will be very different.

I can get two people that are very similar and have them both do a bodybuilding workout but eat very differently and they will get very different results with their body.

Many women, for example, get nervous when I am training them and keep encouraging them to lift heavier and heavier. They are afraid of their muscles getting too big. Even if their fat content is low they look “bulky” in their clothes when the muscles are big.

What they don’t know is that it is not the workout alone that builds the muscle and burns fat. It is the workout and the diet together. By changing what they eat, they can get cut and lean instead of big. They can get very small bodies even if the weight drops very little.

On the other side of the coin, there are guys that are “Hardgainers.” They have a hard time gaining muscle. They workout more and more and it still does not work.

In fact they are working out too much and that is one of their problems. But to stay on the point of this article, when the diet is corrected for this guy, the muscle starts to grow.

The last reason I focus on diet more than exercise at the beginning is that there is a lot of education needed to understand what nutrition really means and how it works.

The common and current ideas of nutrition such as the use of calories as a determining factor of what to eat, focusing on the macronutirent content (carbs, proteins and fat), ignorance of toxicity in foods, etc. all lead to unexplained weight gain or unexplained inability to keep the weight off. All of these peices of advice are based on falsehoods.

There is a vast amount of toxic exposure from a vast amount of sources. One of the effects of these toxic substances are obesity, visceral fat, diabetes and breast cancer, just for starters.

Without understanding all these factors, a person will have a hard time keeping the weight off and continuing to rise to higher levels of optimal health.

When the client has gotten the right education, new habits and new routines, then it is a good time to get into optimal exercise. The good news is that weight loss can occur before then.

You will lose weight without exercise when learning about nutrition first and getting the nutrition habits incorporated into your life first. This is a testament to the need for proper and optimal nutrition.

A person can lose weight without exercise by really understanding the magic and truth about nutrition. Exercise is best used as a way to further lock in and reset the new fat burning point of the metabolism. Exercise can truly prevent the fat from coming back on.
