Saturated Plant Fats

by Milan Sulc
(1580 Oleyres, Switzerland)

I just started looking through your MM book, and I would take issue with your statement on p. 370 that "When saturated fat is plant fat, it is ok."

Palm oil is a plant fat but according to just about everything I have read about it, it is not good for us.

Was this an oversight on your part, or do you have specific reasons (backed up by studies) to believe that palm oil is a good fat?

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Best regards,

Hi Milan,

yes, I hear you. Take your own research and results as the final say.

Palm oil is a rarity here and only a rare person like you will even know what it is.

If you don't feel comfortable taking it dont take it.

The point of that section was to take UNsaturated oils. And that there were exceptions to the rule. So try not to get hung up by ONE point and look at the whole context - which again is the whole point.

In the end you have to make your own decision. There is a limit to what I can cover while keeping it simple enough for people to read and apply.

In my opinion what people are currently doing with their efforts to lose weight is far more dangerous than whether they take palm oil or not.

For every single "good" food, there are studies that show how bad it is. At a certain point, it just becomes ridiculous.

So if you read everything I wrote and are hung up on ONE fact, then simply don't take palm oil.

The main points of the book are far more important than one food.
