When I eat I don't feel satisfied, still feel hungry?

Dear Yegyan,

Please can you advise me, as I too have a weight problem. When I eat I still feel hungry, the only thing that seems to help is starch, then I put on weight. I went to a Dietician and she gave me a diet to follow. It was fish and vegetables, no starch and lots of water, and I was allowed only 2 fruits a day. She also gave me tablets that really helped me, that supported the blood sugar. I felt great and did not feel so hungry, only when it was time to eat, I felt a bit hungry. I had to give up going to her, as those tablets were very expensive. I'm back to being over weight and hungry again. Please can you advise me what to eat, that I'll be satisfied and not be hungry.I'll be very grateful.

Yours most sincerely,
Sandra

Hi Sandra,

Cravings can be a horrible thing when they are intense.

There are a number of causes for hunger that are not very well known.

One is a decrease in leptin and an increase in ghrelin. Leptin is the hormone that causes you to feel full. ghrelin is the hormone that makes you feel hungry.

When there is sleep deprivation ghrelin increases and leptin decreases.

High fructose corn syrup also suppresses leptin and prevents someone from feeling full. If someone eats food or drinks a drink with high fructose corn syrup before eating they will eat 50 to 300 percent more.

Candida overgrowth will also cause you to crave sugar all the time and it will be intense.

Blood sugar swings or hypoglycemia will will also cause constant hunger. Since you took something to help your blood sugar and it really helped you we have the most likely culprit. This means you have some form of insulin resistance.

So I would therefore look at your adrenals to see how they are doing because stressed adrenals usually cause insulin resistance.

The other thing you mentioned is that the only thing that seems to help you feel satisfied is starch. This is an indication to me your body is not producing energy well and also that there are digestive problems.

I know I keep saying this buy you may want to contact me for a free consult and fill out my metabolic assessment questionnaire. So I can find out where this is coming from.

I hope to hear from you!
Yegyan
