Hi Chelsea,
You are not alone. That is what this site and my consults is all about.
Here’s the deal when it comes to this question, it is a very general question and there can be many answers to your situation.
The best thing to do is to set up a consult with me. Don’t worry it is free. There is a questionnaire I’ll have you fill out and then it will show what part or parts of your metabolism is not functionning correctly.
That is what is the best thing to do so we are not both guessing and playing “diet roulette.”
Having said that, I want to tell you what some of those things are.
There are a few mistakes people make when choosing a plan to help their body.
And your injury may have thrown you into one of those situations.
I have my suspicions as to what is causing that to occur after your injury. But talking with you will be the best to narrow it down.

Hi there,
Thank you for your question.
I want to say congratulations on removing sugar from your diet.
That is key.
What was a red flag for me is that you said you removed fat as well.
If you remove fat from your diet it is one of the most unhealthy things you can do. It is also one of the most common things I hear from dieters.
Here's the deal if you cut fat out and you rfat intake is too low, then YOU WILL GAIN ALL THE WAIT BACK AND HAVE LOW ENERGY AND WILL DEVELOP OTHER HEALTH PROBLEMS DOWN THE ROAD.
SO you NEED fat. Fat is an essential nutrient. Essential means your body cannot produce it.
If your fat intake is too low, you will plunge your testosterone levels and have no energy and also very low draggy feeling. Your mental focus will also drop.
If you want to keep your weight off you need to resolve your low energy. When you lose weight and have low energy, you will gain it back. If you lose weight while gaining energy you will keep it off.
High natural energy is a sign of a healthy natural metabolism.
You said you adopted a lacto vegetarian diet. I would always check to see if this is what your body needs.
If you adopted this diet WHILE eliminating sugar, then it could be that it is ONLY the drop in sugar that is causing your weight loss.
I always start a person on a program by first finding out what foods their body chemistry responds to best. If your body is not responding well to this diet which include dairy, then your energy can be low. Also if your body chemistry burns through protein fast it will mean that you are deficient in dense protein in your diet.
The lacto vegetarian diet came from a religious/philosophical origin. This means it never came from a nutritional origin.
Some people have a body chemistry that responds very well to this diet. Others do not.
So that is where I would start if I were you. Increase the amount fo good fat in your diet. A tablespoon or two of olive oil or grape seed oil with each meal or a few thousand milligrams of fish oil in each meal can be all you need.
To get a more specific answer, get a free consult with me.
But at the end of the day, you need to find the diet that gives you sustained energy FIRST. If your energy levels are high and sustained, then that is the right diet for you.
In today's world, anyone who removes sugar from their diet will start losing weight.
